The Basketball Development League’s mission is to teach boys and girls the fundamentals of basketball in a fun but competitive manner. Discipline, self-confidence, skill development, participation, and team work are stressed in this league.

Season 81 Recap

Thank you to the players, coaches, and all volunteers for a successful Season 81! A big thank you to everyone who participated in our end-of-season potluck and celebration, especially those who brought the ribs, egg rolls, and shrimp tempura.

 

Congratulations to our season champs - Longshots, Alleyoops, and Team David.  And a special congratulations to our Hotchkiss Award Winner, Kaitlin Chau and Vincent Pham Winner, Kevin Vo. See you all for Season 82!

Registration

Season 82 registration is now open! Game/practice times will be posted on Saturdays, please check the specific tabs for each division. Thank you!

Season 82 Information

ADULT TEAM CAPTAINS: Please let Bia or Michelle know whether your team will be returning for Season 82 by Sunday, October 27th. We will then open up the waitlist for new teams. You may also email us at bdleague.sj@gmail.com if there are any questions.

Registration for Season 82 is open! Season 82 is to begin November 17, 2024, and is tentatively set to end January 25, 2025. Registration forms can be accessed here. Thank you!

TENTATIVE SEASON 82 SUNDAY SCEHDULE

Note: Schedule is subject to change pending gym availability. 

ADULTS

  • There will be a minimum of 6 games. If you make it to the championship game, you will play 8 games.

  • Each team should consist of 8 players, preferably 9, with at least one girl.

  • Teams may wear different color shorts, but ALL players must wear the same shorts. The shorts must be the same brand, color and style. You may buy them yourselves or let us know and we will order them on Eastbay for you. Teams must still wear the BDL jersey tops.

  • Adults who do not have a team will be assigned a team.

  • Adults who receive 2 personal technical fouls will receive a one game suspension. Adults who receive 3 personal technical fouls will receive a season suspension.

GAME CANCELLATION FEES

 In the past, there have been teams that couldn't attend games due to out of town commitments/COVID issues. We scheduled a different team in place of them. With this upcoming season as well, we would like to know by Thursdays to make the proper adjustments for game schedules and fill in vacant spots. This game will be counted in the standings. If not notified by Thursdays before game days, a $25 game cancellation fee will be implemented.

ADULT SILVER

​Adult Silver is to be family friendly. It is a non-competitive division and if a team is deemed over competitive, please look into joining the Adult Gold division. Please note we received teams in the previous season with players who should have been playing in Adult Gold, making it unfair to other teams in Adult Silver. Thank you for understanding.
